Hotmail login form Android phone
Now I bet you want to access Hotmail even from your Android smartphone or tablet, am I right? I can assure you that even in this case, the procedure you need to perform is not complicated. So, get your device on the Google OS board and follow the careful instructions that I will give you in the next few lines.
To access Hotmail from your Android device, all you have to do is install the official Microsoft Outlook application on your device. To install the app, open the Google Play Store (color triangle-shaped app) and enter in the “Microsoft Outlook” search field. At this point, click on the app icon and then on Settings.
Now please be patient for a few seconds and then click Open to launch the app or, alternatively, touch the blue icon that has been inserted on your device’s Home page.
When the application is open, you will have a white screen in front of you. The only thing you’ll see is the Outlook icon and the Start button. As you can guess, you will need to click on Start to set up your Hotmail account and to be able to access it from your Android device.

Hotmail login account from iOS
If you have an iPhone or iPad and you are wondering how to access Hotmail on iOS, pay close attention to the information I’m about to give you. You will see, the procedure you need to follow is not so different than what you need to complete Android users.
In this case, in fact, to access Hotmail from your iDevice, you will have to open the Cupertino company application store to install the Microsoft Outlook application. So open up the App Store by clicking on the blue icon you found the letter “A”.
Now enter in the search field “Microsoft Outlook” and click on Get and then click on Settings. Wait a few seconds to download the app and touch the Open button. If you like, you can also open the app directly from the Home screen, just click the blue icon of the app you just downloaded.
Once you have opened the application, you will be asked to enter your email address in a specific field. Enter your Hotmail email address and click Add Account. Now enter the password and confirm by pressing Sign. You will then be asked if you want to add another account.
If you will not do that click on the Later button. As has happened to the Android app, even in this case, you’ll find a brief explanation of how the service works. Click Skip to access your account. See it? Accessing your Hotmail account from iOS is really simple.
However, if you do not want to download the Outlook app to your device, you can still access your Hotmail account using the Mail app you find “standard” on your iPhone or iPad. To do this, you’ll have to go to Settings (gray gear icon) scroll the menu to the left and click on Mail. Now click on Account from the menu that you can see on the left.
After performing the operation described in the previous paragraph, click Add Account. Touch the Outlook.com icon and enter your Hotmail email address. Then confirm by clicking the Forward button. Enter your password right in the appropriate field and hit Sign in. Confirm the action by touching Yes and then Save. “Marvelously,” your Hotmail account can be used directly in the Apple Mail app.
Hotmail login through the email application
If the solutions I’ve listed so far do not particularly convince you, especially the Microsoft Outlook application, you can decide to configure your Hotmail account on any email client. If your account is not configured automatically, you can use the IMAP or POP3 parameters shown below.
Inbound mail server (IMAP): imap-mail.outlook.com (or outlook.office365.com)
Encrypted connection: SSL
User Name: insert email@example.com
Password: Enter the password of your Hotmail account
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp-mail.outlook.com (or smtp.office365.com)
Port: 25 (or 587)
Encrypted connection: TLS
Incoming mail server (POP3): pop-mail.outlook.com
Encrypted connection: SSL
User Name: insert firstname.lastname@example.org
Password: Hotmail account password
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp-mail.outlook.com
Doors: 25 or 587
Encrypted connection: TLS
The IMAP and POP parameters that I showed above should be entered when you will use the e-mail application. For example:
If you use Mail, the client you have preinstalled on macOS, the process you need to do is: Start Mail, click Mail (top left, next to Apple logo), select Add account. and select the vendor. If the account is not configured automatically, you can configure it manually using the IMAP or POP3 parameters I mentioned earlier.
However, if you use Mozilla Thunderbird, you will need to launch the client, click on Create New Account and then click on Email. Then you need to set up an existing account, just your Hotmail.com account. You will then have to fill in the required fields (email, password, etc.) and manually enter the IMAP or POP3 parameters you found at the top.

How to use Hotmail
Use the flag
In www.Hotmail.com, you can easily identify and find important e-mails. You just have to mark them with red flags. In this way, e-mails remain at the top of the mailing list and can be retrieved quickly. It is also possible to create only messages with flags displayed in the list. In the left menu, you’ll find the ‘Quick View’ option. Below you will find the ‘Flagged’ folder plus some of the parentheses. Click on the option and you will only see the e-mails you have provided with the flag. This number also indicates the number of messages with the flag.
To mark a message as flag, click the gray flag that appears in front of each message. The flag turns red and the message is placed at the top of the list.
Use the right mouse button
Right mouse button for different things to use in Hotmail. For example, if you right-click on a message, different options like “Reply”, “Reply All”, “Forward”, “Mark as unread” and “Delete” will appear. The advantage to this is that you can apply different options without having to open the e-mail. Even more practical is that you can first select a variety of notifications and then, by right-clicking on a randomly selected message, you can delete the e-mails at the same time.
You can also use the right mouse button in the left menu. For example, right-click “Inbox”. For example, you can select “Mark all as read”, which marks all unread messages in the mailbox as read.
You can use shortcuts in Hotmail. Handy, because you click less and the shortcuts usually work faster. Here we mention the actions you use most often with the corresponding shortcuts:
- Open the new message: Ctrl + N
- Send the message: Ctrl + Enter
- To reply to the message: Ctrl + R
- All replies to the message: Ctrl + Shift + R
- Forward the message: Ctrl + Shift + F
- Open the following message:.
- Open previous message: Ctrl +,
- To close a message: Esc
